An Exhibition of the Cobourg & Peterborough Railway Story

 —  —

C. Gordon King Centre (aka the Cobourg Library), 200 Ontario Street, Cobourg, Ontario

Scott Berry (one of the Directors of the Cobourg Show) has advised: “I want everyone to know that sadly, after 21 years, the decision has been made to close out the Cobourg Model Train Show. It has been a great run over the past two decades.”

In its stead, George Parker will host “An Exhibition of the Cobourg & Peterborough Railway Story”. As the title suggests, this Exhibition will focus exclusively on the story of the Cobourg & Peterborough Railway (and its successor, the CP&MR&MC).

The Exhibition will feature four operating layouts: There will be one HO and one F Scale Layout depicting the Cobourg & Peterborough Railway (i.e., the Lumber and Rice Lake Bridge story). And there will be one HO and one F Scale Layout depicting the Cobourg, Peterborough & Marmora Railway & Mining Company (i.e., the Iron Ore and Blairton Mine story).

There will also be a collection of models, artefacts, drawings and photographs telling both chapters of the Railway story.

ADMISSION IS FREE.

The four layouts will be operational until 3 PM.

At 3 PM, there will be a presentation on the lumber trade in the mid-1800s (i.e., the main reason for building the C&P).
